January 2021 Newsletter

As you all know we are currently in our 3rd Lock down. Your Gp practice is open as usual operating under stricter infection control measures therefor do not come to the practice if you have any Covid symptoms. We are being stretched to our maximum with staff from the surgery offering support at the covid PCN hubs to get all our elderly and vulnerable patients vaccinated as soon as possible.

We received the vaccines for the flu 50-64 year old cohort on the 16th December and we sent messages out to this group and set up a weekend session on the 19th. If you fall in this cohort please do call the surgery and book a flu vaccination as soon as possible. Whilst the flu vaccine will not protect against Covid -19, flu vaccines have been shown to reduce the risk of flu illness, hospitalisation and death, and getting the flu vaccine can also save healthcare resources for the care of patients with Covid- 19 (www.cdc.gov).

Please also book your flu vaccine if you in any risk category. please visit www.nhs.uk for further details around the flu vaccine.
